Privacy policy

What we store

When you create a mixtape we store the tape itself: its title, recipient name, track list, notes, cover artwork, stickers and any photos you add. If you sign in, we store your email address and link your tapes to your account. Tapes made without signing in are stored against a share code only.

Music services

If you connect Spotify, we store the access and refresh tokens Spotify issues along with your Spotify display name, avatar and account type, so we can search and build playlists on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time, which removes those tokens. We never receive your Spotify or Apple password.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Apple. We receive a signed receipt from Apple containing the product purchased and its expiry date, which we store to know whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment details.

Who we share with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Data is processed by our hosting and database provider purely to run the app, and by Spotify or Apple when you choose to connect those services. Anyone you send a mixtape link to can see that tape.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual tapes at any time. To remove everything, open your profile and choose “Delete account” — this permanently deletes your account, your tapes, your saved people and any connected music accounts.

Children

Mixtape is not intended for children under 13.
